 DEI DISCUSSION GROUP

We will have conversations broadly related to DEI that might include books (fiction and nonfiction), TED talks, speakers, attending an event and then having a conversation about the event or other ideas anyone has. This group will be moderated by Marianne Hunnicutt. The discussions will be led by a member of the group each month. The discussions will be held the third Thurday of the month  7:00- 7:30pm via Zoom.

The fall calendar is:

September 21 – The Vanishing Half (fiction) by Britt Bennett facilitated by Marianne Hunnicutt

October 19 – The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together by Heather McGee facilitated by Jenneine Rowley-Gilroy

November 12 and 16 – Attend Diwali Celebration sponsored by the Village of Woodridge on Sunday and discuss reactions on Thursday evening facilitated by Mary Hobein

The Spring schedule will be discussed during the fall by the group.

Everyone is welcome to attend any discussion. Those on the DEI group list from last year will receive a Zoom link about a week in advance of the discussion. If you would like to be added to the DEI group list, let me know at mariannehunnicutt [at] gmail.com.
