The United Nations' Association (Western Regions) has organized a Virtual Forum on Climate Change, which will be held on Friday, October 1 from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time. This event is free for all attendees. The purpose of this event is to inform the public and climate activists about the United Nations’ 26th Climate Conference (COP26) to be held in Glasgow in early November, 2021.

In November 2020, California voters gave those on parole the right to vote. This National Voter
Registration Day, LA Free the Vote and community partners invite you to celebrate the expansion of
voting rights and get civically engaged.

NAACP Alachua Environmental and Climate Justice Committee will host a virtual discussion on how Alachua County can transition toward 100% clean energy. LWVAC Natural Resource Committee Co-Chairs, Roberta Gastmeyer and Jay Rosenbek and LWVAC Local Issues Chair, Jeff Shapiro serve on this committee. All League members are invited and encouraged to attend.
