Our August 18 meeting was a fun morning of meeting other leaguers and community members. We learned the In's and Out’s of Registering People to Vote, both on paper and online, and heard about Votersedge.org and Pros and Cons presentations. We concluded with a potluck lunch and casual discussion of political books that individual members have read.
First book review:
Martha Goralka shared her impressions of her current reading, “Grant”, by Ron Chernow. She remarked that she was surprised by “how much happened after the Civil War was over!” We were all impressed by the size and weight of this tome, but she said it was very enjoyable reading.
