WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging the informed and active participation of citizens in government. We also work to influence public policy through education and advocacy. We never support or oppose any political party or candidate. Our Vision, Beliefs, and Intentions guide our activities.
The League of Women Voters has two separate and distinct roles.
- Voters Service & Community Education: We research and present unbiased nonpartisan information about candidates, the voting process and propositions and measures.
- Action & Advocacy: We work together to identify issues of concern, study those issues, and develop positions. While we are nonpartisan regarding political parties and candidates, once we have a studied position on an issue we take action and advocate for or against particular policies or laws. Positions can be created at the local, state, or national level.
