Long Beach voters overwhelmingly approved Measure CCC on the November 2018 ballot, establishing an Ethics Commission for the City of Long Beach. Ethics Commissions provide valuable oversight over local campaign finance, ethics, and transparency laws, enhancing political accountability and promoting public trust in government.

On May 7, 2019, the City of Long Beach opened the application process for Long Beach residents to apply to serve on the Ethics Commission.  The Ethics Commission’s responsibilities include monitoring, administering, and implementing provisions of the Charter, statute, and ordinance relating to campaign finance, lobbying, conflict of interest, and governmental ethics.

The League of Women Voters encourages everyone to think about getting involved.  We have a link to the application page in the left hand side bar of this Web site.  If you are viewing on a smart phone or tablet it will be under the social media buttons.
