Defending Democracy 

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization,encourages informed and active participation in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy. We do not support or oppose any political party or any candidate. We do, however, take action on selected government issues in the public interest.

We are actively looking for new members in the Long Beach, Lakewood and Signal Hill areas.  While we welcome all ages and both men and women, we are looking for the Millennials to get involved. If you are a High School or College student please consider our low cost membership fee of $10 and get ENGAGED in your community by working with passionate people with the same goal of DEFENDING Democracy.  Get involved in EMPOWERING voters by working to educate our community on topics and policies that effect everyone!

2026 California General Election

November 3, 2026

  • The last day to register to vote for the General Election is October 19, 2026.
  • All California active registered voters will receive a ballot for the November 3, 2026, General Election.
  • County elections officials will begin mailing ballots by October 5, 2026.
  • Secure ballot drop-off locations open on October 6, 2026.
