CANDIDATE FORUMS SET FOR 1ST DAYS OF FEBRUARY

On Thursday, February 1, the LWV Mendocino County will sponsor a forum for candidates for California Assembly, District 2. The following evening, Friday, February 2, the League will hold a forum for candidates for the 4th District seat on the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors.

Both forums will be held in Town Hall, at the corner of N. Main and Laurel Streets in Ft. Bragg, beginning at 6 pm. Both are in-person events which will be taped. and shown on the City’s
website (https://www.city.fortbragg.com).

Thursday’s event will be moderated by League
president Charlene McAllister, Friday’s by League member Sharon DiMauro. The timekeeper for both forums is Jary Stavely.
Six of the seven candidates on the March 5th ballot have agreed to the Thursday forum: Ted Williams, Mike Greer, Rusty Hicks, Chris Rogers, Ariel Kelley, and Frankie Myers. The 2d District stretches from Marin County in the south to Humboldt in the north.

Two candidates will appear on Friday for the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors race: Bernie Norvell and Georgina Avila-Gorman. Each candidate will be given 3 minutes for opening and closing statements, and each will have 2 minutes to answer questions from the audience gathered by League members, Peggy Smith and Jane Person, and read by the moderator. If you have questions you would like to hear answers to, but cannot go to the forums, please email them to Jane Person at janeperson [at] hotmail.com, or to Charlene McAllister at charad [at] comcast.net.
