At our next meeting on October 19, we have invited League members Carrie Durkee and Jim Tarbell to present a brief history of Grassroots Institute and their current areas of focus. 

This past summer LWV of Mendocino County supported the Grassroots Institute's recommendation that Mendocino County Board of Supervisors and the City Councils of Fort Bragg, Willits, Ukiah, and Pt. Arena prioritize the installation of solar panels on county and municipal buildings, the installation of electric car charging stations, and the transition of our public transportation (i.e. MTA) to electric vehicles.

Jim Tarbell shared that the Grassroots Institute (GRI) is excited to present and explore the many common issues and goals shared between GRI and LWVMC, including the most critical problems we face, from money-in-politics, to election integrity to the climate crisis.
