Many of us have extra time these days. What better way to spend it than with a book! In these trying times, it's also helpful to stay in community, even if we can't personally be with each other.
This year--the hundredth anniversary of women's suffrage--we're starting the LWVO Centennial Book Club under the leadership of Trisha Gorman, LWVO Centennial Committee. We'll be meeting over Zoom on the third Thursday of every other month. (Zoom, which is free for users, works with PCs/Macs and on iPhones/Androids.)
We will discuss the first two case studies in the Harvard University book: DEMOCRACY: A CASE STUDY by David Moss. These case studies--focusing on decisions made by the founders about the Constitution and governance--are proving quite relevant to the current news of the day. Other case studies will be discussed at a later date. A reminder that this book is available in paperback and a Kindle edition.
