Encourage Non-participating Candidates to Submit Their Information to Voter's Edge

by: Petti VanRekom

As a constituent, urge the folks running on your ballot for Congress and down ballot to submit their information to Voter's Edge.  Here's how:

  1. Go to and enter your street address and ZIP code.
  2. Scroll down to the Congressional candidates and click on Compare candidates.
  3. If the following message is in a candidate's box: "Encourage this candidate to share their information on Voter's Edge" then they have not yet submitted their information to Voter's Edge.
  4. Click on the "Encourage..." line, which will bring up an email form with basic information (candidate's email address, subject line and brief content). Feel free to add to the stock message: tell them you are a constituent and rely on the information there and hope they will be submitting theirs. (No need to include the information that you are a League member, if you are).
  5. Send the email.

For those who want to do more: navigate to the county-wide ballot on Voter's Edge and (using the steps above) write to candidates who won't be representing you if elected (because you are not a constituent or potential constituent) but because you want to be able to recommend Voter's Edge to folks living in that area.
