Time is flying by and our annual holiday luncheon is quickly approaching. With the fate of Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election tampering hanging in the balance, what better time to come and learn more at our luncheon on December 7, where we will get the low-down on Russian politics/history and hear an insider’s viewpoint on Vladimir Putin! Our guest speaker, Professor Anastasia Edel, literally wrote a book on Putin, so please come and bring all the questions you have on this continually evolving topic that is impacting our electoral and political processes.

We will also be holding our annual Program Planning meeting and Soup Lunch on January 25, 2019. The Program Planning meeting is one of the most important meetings of the League year, because it is the time when we prioritize our issues for the next year. This year we will do program planning using our California positions and local positions. We have also been asked to review a very comprehensive and interesting new criminal justice position that the state League would like to adopt. I recall attending my first soup lunch many years ago. I found the issues and discussion so interesting that I decided to be more active in our League. So please mark the date on your calendar and come join us for some truly delicious homemade soup, and maybe you will become as hooked on the League as I am!

I hope to personally wish everyone happy holidays at our luncheon next week, but if I don’t see you there, please know that the Board and I are wishing you and your families a wonderful holiday season!

Peace and joy, Nancy
