The League of Women Voters of Piedmont sent the following letter to the Piedmont Mayor addressing the League's concern that the City of Piedmont should pay our fair share for library services and have a more concrete agreement with the City of Oak

On March 15th, representatives of the Leagues of Piedmont, Oakland, and Alameda met with Senator Nancy Skinner in her Oakland offices to ask questions about her priorities, our local league priorities, and LWV CA priorities. We discussed state and local redistricting legislation, housing reform, criminal justice reform, reforms to the state proposition process, a tax proposal to increase money for education and to reduce the ratio in compensation between CEOs and their workforce, and legislation to legalize corporate sponsorships of college athletes.

 The League of Women Voters of Piedmont sent the following letter to the Superintendent of Schools, Piedmont Mayor, City Council Members and School Board.

Our annual program planning meeting and soup lunch will be on January 25, 2019. We will review the planning process and current LWV/US and LWV/CA priorities and accomplishments, and potential members will be welcome. We will discuss proposed new league positions on civil discourse, criminal justice, and improved voting. And, we will jointly decide on our 3 top priorities to act on locally and to communicate to LWV/CA. More information is below, but prior preparation is not necessary.
