Do you have AI anxiety? Is Artificial Intelligence a panacea that will solve many of humanity’s greatest problems or is it a threat to the survival of the human race? How can we distinguish fact from fiction?

Widely hailed as the potential source of great improvements in dealing with some of our most difficult problems, AI also has the potential to destroy. Medical specialists, for instance, extol its ability to improve diagnosis and treatment of life threatening illnesses, while some fear it could threaten our democracy. Others warn of its threat to our very existence. Almost everyone agrees that AI should be regulated. What's happening with that?

How did we get to this point with AI? What are some of the notable events and famous thinkers behind the recent rise of ChatGPT?
Come join us as we explore the answers to these questions!

Our presenter will be Barri Babow, who has post-graduate degrees in information Ssystems and history of science, as well as a bachelor's degree in physics. During graduate school she taught in the Astronomy and Computer Science departments at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Subsequently, she has gained more than 20 years experience working in various facets of Information Technology.
