 Additional comments or concerns:

  1. Only 1 Law & Justice item was on the consent calendar: approving an agreement to reimburse the City of Sacramento for one-third of the cost of repaving the Sheriff’s Emergency Vehicles Operation Course; it was unanimously approved.
  2. The discussion of amending the county charter to enable holding the election for Sheriff, District Attorney, and Assessor during Presidential election years (item #46) drew 27 public commenters, with most in favor of amending. The “pro” discussion focused on voter turnout and increased participation for significant local elections. The “con” discussion focused on the proposal being “rushed” onto the November 2020 ballot without adequate time for public discussion and comment. The discussion report was received and filed; the Board took no action. However, the topic is likely to be revisited in the future.
