N/A. Virtual meeting.

Were any issues on the agenda relevant to any LWV state or local positions or programs?

LWVS produced an advocacy document in support of Ordinance #STA 20-001. This item was repealed and spending plan rescinded before going to County Board of Supervisors for ballot approval.

Do you recommend local League action on any of these issues?

X

If “yes” what action do you recommend?

Other comments or concerns:

This was a special meeting to rescind Ordinance # STA 20-001 (Measure A) and the spending plan before going to the County Board of Supervisors.

It was clear from a formal public poll that it would be unlikely to pass with the required two-thirds threshold. No board members objected.

The STA Board, in the virtual meetings due to the pandemic, now has added the opportunity for public comment by telephone. All comments, telephonic and email, are part of the meeting record.Telephonic comments was a slow process (tens of callers) but adequate and well-managed.
