Details: Suffragists fought for 72 years and employed a number of different strategies to make American women’s right to vote the law of the land, including opposing passage of the 14th and 15th Amendments because they specified the word “male” in the Constitution. Our foremothers also voted illegally to force a court ruling, which ultimately set back women’s suffrage for many years. Come find out more about the measures suffragists were willing to take to earn voting rights for themselves and generations of women to come.
