Dear Mayor Himmelrich, Mayor Pro Tem McCowan, and City Councilmembers,

We have previously submitted public comments on the ordinance relating to restrictions on carrying, using, or possessing certain specified items during community events or public assemblies to promote public safety and welfare. 

As you deliberate on extending the ordinance, we urge you to consider our previously expressed concerns regarding the potential negative unintended consequences of extending this ordinance, such as potential misuse due to the wide-ranging types of objects and potential situations in which it may be applied. 

Our comments from April 13, 2021 and August 24, 2021 are attached for your reference.
