I am pleased to inform you that the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is now offering online renewals for eligible drivers 70 and older, with a mail in option forthcoming. If your license or REAL ID expired beginning March 1, 2020 and throughout the COVID-19 emergency, you may be eligible.

This expansion follows Governor Gavin Newsom's recent Executive Order that temporarily waives California law requiring a visit to a DMV field office for drivers age 70 and older to renew their license.
