“Today marks the day we observe Black Women's Equal Pay Day. This is the day in 2021 in which black women finally financially catch up to their white male counterparts' earnings from 2020. This means that because of the gender pay gap, it takes an extra 8 months for black women to make what white males earned in the previous year. In other words, the typical black woman must work 20 months to be paid what the average white man was paid in just 12 months. Black women who work year-round, full-time jobs make .63 cents for every dollar paid to their white, male counterparts.
Let's band together to uplift the voices of black women. #genderequality #womensrights #womensequalitydayhttps://www.nbcnews.com/know-your-value/feature/black-women-...”
