YOUTH v GOV is the story of the Juliana v. The United States of America constitutional lawsuit and the 21 American youth, ages 14 to 25, who are taking on the world’s most powerful government. Since 2015, the legal non-profit Our Children’s Trust, has been representing these youth in their landmark case against the U.S. government for violating their constitutional rights to life, liberty, personal safety, and property through their willful actions in creating the climate crisis they will inherit.

Communities for a Better Environment presents Nizgui Gomez. She is a 20 year old college student at SMCC and an active core leader in our Youth for Environmental Justice program. Nizgui's identity is rooted in a powerful resistance to speak out and push back the many injustices her community of Wilmington has faced. She has worked along CBE in our unprecedented Youth EJ Vs. the City of LA a lawsuit brought on by youth plaintiff holding the City of LA accountable for years of discrimination by disproportionately impacting black and brown communities from the impacts of oil extraction operation while violating CEQA. Nizgui's leadership has been instrumental in highlighting what youth of color are leaders in this large movement for our lives.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization working to protect and expand voting rights and ensure everyone is represented in our democracy. We empower voters and defend democracy through advocacy, education, and litigation, at the local, state, and national levels. Since the 1960s, we have been at the forefront of efforts to protect air, land, and water resources. Our approach to environmental protection and pollution control is one of problem-solving.
