We are fortunate to have Gloria Gutierrez as LWV Torrance Area President. Under her leadership we have continued to recruit and retain members to the board who advocate and educate in rtheir area of interest and specialty.
Prior to being elected president in 2022, Gloria served as Natural Resources Director and Secretary. A tireless crusader for the planet, Gloria rallies our youth to take action, educates the community on the dangers of climate change and demonstrates how we can do simple things to reduce waste.
She joined in 2017 because of an interest in the Environment, Campaign Finance and Voter Education and has served as the LWVTA representative for the National and County conventions. Gloria Gutierrez proudly serves as a school counselor, advocating for her students and her profession. Prior to public education, Gloria worked in business process automation software as an account coordinator helping companies improve their workflows and reduce their use of paper. She also served as an Americorps*VISTA in the areas of homelessness and food insecurity by helping non-profits utilize volunteers to expand their service capability. She is a native to Torrance and currently lives in Lomita.
