 Election 2020:  Challenges Ahead

How reliable is our news?

Are all voters--local and nationwide--able to vote?

Let's Get Out the Vote!

See details on sessions below

Join us as we explore these questions and more.  Open to the public.  Refreshments provided.

The Truthfulness in Voting session will be particularly interesting with a panel featuring:

  • Dr. Susan Moeller of the Merrill School of Journalism at the University Maryland
  • Yuripsy Morgan of WBAL radio
  • Colin McGuire: columnist for the Frederick News Post

This panel will be moderated by Denise Rolark Barnes, publisher of the Washington Informer.

The second session on Voting Rights will raise our awareness beyond our immediate NCA area to issues facing the nation regarding Voting Rights. Are we making progress in stopping the cleansing of the registration lists in Ohio? What is happening with the ability of Native Americans to get to the polls? Are polls open and freely available to peoples of all colors? Do convicted felons have the ability to vote freely?

The Cleveland Park Library is 2 blocks south of Cleveland Park Metro station on the Red Line. On Saturdays, you can find limited free on-street parking up Newark or Macomb Streets in the residential neighborhood. Or there are 2 Colonial Parking lots at 3513 and 3133 Connecticut Ave, NW.
