The New Jim Crow, Equality Week 2020, LWVGA

This is the first session in a 10-week series based on Michelle Alexander’s book, The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness . We will use the book as well as a variety of videos for jumping off points for our discussion of mass incarceration in the United States and exploration of Georgia and South Carolina’s state criminal justice system. We heartily recommend that you read the book in preparation for participation.
