  • Mary-Kate Lizotte - Associate Professor of Political Science, Augusta University - Author, Gender Differences in Public Opinion: Values and Political Consequences

The discussion will include experiences and challenges women face in seeking elected office, the impact and opportunities women have in holding elected office, and why it is important on a local, state and national level to have the varied perspectives that women bring to leadership in the political sector. Each panelist will speak for 8-10 minutes each and then respond to questions posed by the moderator and members of the audience.

We will throw in a variety of trivia questions during the networking time and between panelists. So, bone-up on your women's suffrage and League of Women Voters history.

This event is part of Equality Week 2020, a larger program celebrating the Centennial of the League of Women Voters and the ratification of the 19th Amendment.
