Follow the journey to ratifying the ERA in Illinois, which was finally accomplished in 2018, and the many lessons learned along the way.  This amazing accomplishment was the product of efforts by activists and volunteers across the state.  Guest speakers Amy Jo Conroy, AAUW Chicago Board Member, and Michelle Fadeley, llinois NOW President, were instrumental in helping design and implement a winning ERA strategy .  We will discuss why 2018 was finally the year for the ERA, hear about ongoing efforts in other states to obtain the 38th ERA ratification, and what we can do in Illinois.

AmyJo Conroy is a practicing attorney and board member of the AAUW-Chicago Branch.  She is passionate about the Equal Rights Amendment. AJ manages social media for ERA Illinois, Equal Pay Day Chicago and Chicago Craftivists.

Michelle Fadeley is president of the Illinois state chapter of the National Organization for Women, serves on the Illinois NOW PAC and Illinois NOW Legal and Education Fund, and is one of the co-founders of ERA Illinois, a coalition of organizations and activists from around the state dedicated to ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment.
