Voting is the most powerful way to have your voice heard. It is the core of our democracy. It is your chance to stand up for what matters to you most and impact the issues affecting you, your community, and the future. In order to exercise your right, you must be registered.
Registering To Vote
Laws vary from state to state. Our Voter Registration page contains information on the registration process for Chicago.
Information regarding future elections, including where, when, and how to vote as well as information on candidates and issues can be found on our Upcoming Elections page.
Voter Education Services
League members perform in-depth studies and candidate interviews to inform the public about the ballot. These will be posted as available.
The League of Women Voters Chicago also provides the following services to facilitate participation in the voting process and educating voters:
- Deputy Voter Registrar Services - League members are trained to register voters in Chicago and provide deputy registrars for registration drives throughout Chicago. Is your organization interested in partnering with LWV Chicago on a registration drive? Contact the LWV Chicago Voter Service Chair at league [at] lwvchicago.org for additional information.
- Moderator Services - The League of Women Voters trains volunteers to moderate candidate forums and debates. League moderators are available for non-public forums as well (condominium elections, for example). If you are interested in having someone moderate an event, or would like further information, please contact the LWV Chicago Voter Service Chair at league [at] lwvchicago.org.
