This event is 8th in a series of programs examining Criminal Justice Reform sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the Palatine Area. During this particular program, sentencing and felony murder, Criminal Justice Coordinating Councils, and funding will be addressed by LWV IL Criminal Justice Study members.

The League of Women Voters of Illinois is in the process of updating their position on the issue of Criminal Justice. Local Leagues have formed committees to study the totality of the system and eventually come to consensus. The results will yield a renewed position, allowing the LWV IL to engage more fully in criminal justice advocacy.

In support of the Criminal Justice Study, the LWV of the Palatine Area has put together two meetings per month, first Criminal Justice Issues with an expert speaker and second Let's Talk with members of our committee reporting their research findings. The expert speaker meetings are open to all LWV members and the public, whereas the Let's Talk meetings are reserved for LWV members only.
