LWVIL President Allyson Haut will make opening remarks and introduce our speaker.
Melissa Isaacson is an award-winning spor tswriter, author, and public speaker. In more than thir ty years on the job, she has covered every major US spor ts championship as well as the Olympics. She has written for numerous publications, including long tenures at such institutions as ESPN and the Chicago Tribune. She is currently on the faculty of Nor thwestern’s Medill Schoolof Journalism and lives in the Chicago area.

Melissa has written State, the story of her experiences on the Illinois state champion 1979 Niles West High School girls basketball team, will speak to us about transformational power of girl’s athletics and the controversial legislation that allowed it all to happen.

There will be a chicken or vegetarian entrée and a cash bar. The cost of the lunch is $30. You may indicate your food choice when you sign up. Payment will be accepted at the luncheon in the form of cash or check. Please RSVP by March 3.
