League of Women Voters of Iowa invites you to attend the Defending Democracy Awards Dinner. We will honor Rekha Basu, a syndicated journalist who writes on national and local issues related to race, gender, immigration and social justice. She is a champion of the unheard and unseen in our society. Our guest speaker will be Caleb 'The Negro Artisit' Rainey. He is an author, performer and producer from Iowa City. His publications include 'Look, Black Boy' and 'Heart Notes'. Buffet dinner catered by Baratta's.
