League Lecture Series presentation Iowa, the Beautiful Land? Envisioning an Action Agenda for Nature and Agriculture, by noted science writer Connie Mutel. Based on decades of observing, thinking, and writing about Iowa's natural history and transformed ecology, human-intensified natural disasters, Connie Mutel will summarize the complex evolution of Iowa's environmental challenges, call attention to current initiatives that address key problem areas, and offer guidelines for communicating environmental concerns to policy makers and fellow Iowans.
Larry Weber, Director of IIHR – Hydroscience & Engineering, will introduce Connie Mutel. The speaker’s presentation will be followed by Q & A with the in-person audience. The program will close with a drawing for a copy of Tending Iowa’s Land: Pathways to a Sustainable Future.
