The League of Women Voters of the United States encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
The "Voter Mobile" will be in different locations around Des Moines on Saturdays through Oct. 18. We will publish the locations when they have been confirmed with our partners. On the menu, click on "About" then click on "Voter Education and Registration".
Our next event is on Thursday, Oct. 21 at 6 PM. The topic is "Juvenile Justice: Let's Talk and Restorative Justice Practices." Our guest speakers are from AMOS - A Mid Iowa Organizing Strategy" - Cheryl Hayes, Vikki Spencer, Rev Fred Gaddy, Bob Glass and Harvey Harrison. The first 60 minutes will be a presentation and the final 30 minutes will be for questions and answers.
