Orleans Parish voters will be going to the polls on Saturday May 4th to vote on a single city-wide millage proposition. Check the Elections Page for the language of the proposition as it will appear on the ballot. Below is an explanation of the measure.

CITYWIDE PROPOSITION FOR THE MAY 4TH ELECTION

This proposition is a renewal of a 3 separate property taxes for a combined value of 6.31 mils for 20 years, beginning on January 1, 2021.  The millage will be used to support New Orleans Recreation Development Commission, New Orleans Department of Parks and Parkways, City Park Improvement Association and the Audubon Commission.  This is first time tax support for City Park and a reduction in support for the Audubon Commission. It replaces two property taxes that will expire on January 1, 2021.
