WASHINGTON – The League of Women Voters is proud to announce Heather Koslov as the organization’s next national development director. Heather will lead the League’s development team, using her talents to oversee strategic planning, organization, and the direction of all League fundraising activities.

“Heather’s expertise in fundraising, leadership, and philanthropy makes her a key addition to the League team at this pivotal time,” said Adam Ambrogi, chief of external affairs of the League of Women Voters. “With the continuous challenges to our elections and democracy, fundraising and development are essential to our effectiveness. We’re thrilled to gain Heather’s expertise, experience, and innovative ideas to advance our efforts to build capacity across the League.”

Before joining the League, Heather worked as the development director at The Sentencing Project, a nonprofit organization advocating for effective and humane responses to crime that minimize imprisonment and criminalization of youth and adults by promoting racial, ethnic, economic, and gender justice. During her tenure, she led the implementation of numerous fundraising campaigns, significantly increased total charitable contributions, and sat on the organization's DEIB committee.

“The League's mission of empowering voters and defending democracy is critical to the vitality and future of our nation,” said Koslov. “I’m incredibly eager to support the critical work of the League and share its mission with philanthropy partners invested in the League’s vision for democracy.”

Heather is a Certified Fundraising Executive, which is the highest standard in ethics and professionalism in fundraising. Outside of her work with the League, Heather sits on the Board of the Free Minds Book Club & Writing Workshop, which is a nonprofit that uses books, creative writing, and peer support to help incarcerated and formerly incarcerated youths.
