WASHINGTON, DC — The League of Women Voters of the United States (LWVUS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Erica Teti-Zilinskas as Senior Director, Communications. In this role, Erica will lead the execution of the League’s integrated communications strategy, overseeing media relations, digital communications, and marketing to advance the League’s mission of empowering voters and defending democracy.
“Erica brings a wealth of experience leading communications in complex, mission-driven organizations,” said Sarah Courtney, Chief Communications and Advancement Officer at the League of Women Voters of the United States. “Her strategic vision, strong leadership, and passion for civic engagement will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen the League’s voice in this critical moment for American democracy.”
Erica joins the League with nearly two decades of experience across the nonprofit and private sectors. Most recently, she served as Director of External Affairs at She Should Run, where she led communications and brand strategy to inspire more women to pursue elected leadership. She previously directed communications and marketing at DC Central Kitchen, and held senior roles with City Year Los Angeles and several strategic communications firms representing clients in the entertainment, corporate, and public affairs sectors.
“Communications is at the heart of building trust, transparency, and engagement in democracy,” said Teti-Zilinskas. “I’m honored to join the League at such a pivotal time and to help amplify the work of an organization that has empowered voters for more than a century.”
Erica comes onboard at a time of rapid growth for the League of Women Voters. In the face of a constitutional crisis, the League launched Unite & Rise 8.5, a strategic initiative to engage and mobilize 8.5 million voters ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
