Statement on the Lions of Liberty’s Announcement to End Operation Drop Box in Arizona

Type:
Public Statement

PHOENIX — Protect Democracy and the League of Women Voters of Arizona (LWVAZ) were pleased to see the statement addressed to all members of the Lions of Liberty and Yavapai County Preparedness Team announcing a close to Operation Drop Box. As explained in the LWVAZ complaint filed Tuesday, the surveillance of drop boxes pursuant to Operation Drop Box constitutes voter intimidation in violation of federal law. While the board of the Lions of Liberty’s announcement to end their surveillance of drop boxes is a positive development, we are committed to continuing our litigation until all groups cease their illegal activities and Arizonans are again able to cast their vote in peace.
