 Voting is the central right and responsibility of every citizen in our democracy.  The charge of the Voter Service Committee is to encourage all citizens to vote and become active participants in their government and to provide citizens with unbiased, non-partisan, factual information that can be used in reaching their individual voting decisions. 

 We are looking for people interested in joining our team effort to empower the right to vote. Here is a list of the top seven projects we identified at our first meeting.

#7 Increase our social media presence so that we are visible on social media utilized by young people.

#6 Host postcard and letter writing parties to help increase the number of people who get registered and then exercise their right to have a voice in elections.

#5 Offer an internship to high school students to promote and educate their peers on the importance of voting. In exchange for their service to the league we will write them a letter of reference for their college applications.

#4 Sponsor a high school video competition inviting teams of students to work together to create a short video all about voting that is both informative and entertaining.

#3 Create original posters to be displayed around town that include a QR code leading to the website for voter information, VOTE411.ORG

#2 Host an event offering information and advise on how to go about running for a local office. 

#1 And the number one event this committee is known for is Candidates Night when local candidates are invited to a public forum to answer questions and address their potential constituents. This event is moderated with a live audience as well as televised. The event offers every community member the opportunity to be an informed voter
