Join the League of Women Voters of Lexington at a First Friday on November 7, 2025, 9:30-11:00 AM in the Dining Room at the Lexington Community Center to learn about Stipend Reform, one of the many ballot questions currently proposed. This is a bipartisan ballot effort to eliminate or reform the stipends that Beacon Hill lawmakers get for holding leadership positions.

Jay Kaufman, Lexington resident and former Representative from the 15th Middlesex district from 1994-2019, will explain what these stipends are and how they are allocated to legislators. He will describe the intent of this ballot question. Jay is the founding President of the Beacon Leadership Collaborative, a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing leadership skills and sensibilities for public service.

This program is the third in the 2025-2026 LWV First Friday Forum series hosted by the League of Women Voters to promote awareness and understanding of public policy issues.

LexMedia will record the program. There will be time for Q&A after the program.
