What values will guide your decision making on new development proposals?
If elected, these values will inform my decision making on new development proposals:
- All requirements are met, including but not limited to, dimensional control, stormwater management, tree bylaw, common open space, non-fossil fuel heating, distance to wetland, and affordable housing units.
- Sustainable features such as: solar panel ready or installed, permeable pavements, native landscaping, are considered or planned.
- Impact on the neighbors, shadowing, privacy, road safety, noise are considered
- Unit affordability - are they too big, and therefore too expensive?
- I will listen to and respect neighbors’ concerns and feedback, as they know the surrounding area well
- How the development will benefit our town, including adding foot traffic and new businersses, supporting senior downsizing and young people to start in Lexington, tax revenue to town.
- I will take notes what have gone well, what could have been improved, and then seek opportunity to modify the rules to ensure better results
