It's Winter and It's a Twofer

February and March are excellent months to curl up with a good book. Whether you're traveling or staying warm and cozy here in Michigan, it's a good time to read. The LWVHA Book Group has a "special" for these wintry months.... two books to read!  Unfortunately, our group discussion is cancelled, but you could read the books on your own and talk about them with friends and family online.

We will discuss

No One Is Too Small To Make a Difference by Greta Thunberg and

We Are the Weather: Saving the Planet Begins at Breakfast by Jonathan Safran Foer

Greta Thunberg speaks out loud and clear about the climate crisis, from the United Nations to street protests.
No One is Too Small is a collection of this amazing young activist's speeches.
Jonathan Safran Foer maintains that the task of saving the planet requires a great reckoning with ourselves... with our all-too-human reluctance to sacrifice immediate comfort for the sake of the future. However, only collective actions will save our home. It all starts with what we eat (and don't eat) for breakfast.
He asks: can we really accept the climate and NOT change our lives in response?
