To Register, go to www.seniorservicesmidland.org

The Midland Area League of Women Voters and Senior Services of Midland County will co-host a candidate forum for the Midland County Sheriff’s race to be contested in the August 4 Primary election. The forum is Friday, June 19, 12:30-1:30, as a virtual event via Zoom.

Candidates A.J. Beagle, Myron Greene and Laura Lee are all Republicans, and the Primary winner will be uncontested in the general election.  Kim Steinke, Midland Area LWV president, will moderate the forum.

To register, go to www.seniorservicesmidland.org or call 633-3700 at least one day before the program; instructions will be given about how to join the session. The forum will be available for viewing on YouTube following the program. (need to confirm this with Matt.)

In addition, information on primary election candidates in races at the federal, state and local levels (including townships) will be available starting June 21 at www.VOTE411.org, the LWV online voter guide. Just enter your address to get personalized information on candidates and issues. Local ballot proposals are also included in VOTE411, along with other election-related information.

For the general election on November 3, VOTE411 will again provide access to information on candidates at the federal, state and local levels. Contested local races in the general election include Drain Commissioner, District 6 County Commissioner, City Council Wards 1 and 3, and various township races. The LWV will also publish its traditional hard copy voter guide that will be distributed in October as an insert in the Midland Daily News.
