The purple DONATE and JOIN buttons in the header, when each is selected, automatically lead to my.lwv.org/your-leagues-path/donate and my.lwv.org/your-leagues-path/join, respectively. The buttons' placement is fixed within the header. These are not changeable.*

Default Donate and Join pages are created automatically when you first join MyLO, but these pages must be edited before making your site public. 

There are a few things you can change:

  1. You do not need to use the default-generated page. If you want to use a Webform, instead, for example, you can remove the default page and replace it with a new one. Instructions below. 
  2. You can request that your join link be redirected by emailing that request to mylo [at] lwvc.org. 

How to replace your default Donate or Join pages with a new item you create (such as a Form)

If you want to get rid of the default generated page(s) and use something you create yourself, such as a Form item, you will want to follow the instructions below exactly. The reason for this is that the DONATE button and JOIN button will always link to the path that ends in .../donate and .../join, respectively. All paths (everything that follows "my.lwv.org/") are created based on the League name + the page/item title. If a path is already in use (as .../join is when your League site is first created, since we have default content already in existence), then the site will append a "-0" to the path when you title another item "Join", and its URL would be .../join-0. This would not connect with the JOIN button.

The steps (FOLLOW THIS ORDER):

  1. DELETE or RENAME the default Donate and/or Join page on your site. You can delete or unpublish the page(s) by going to "MANAGE CONTENT" under your Administrator League Menu and using the Operations menu, or edit the page(s) and scroll to the bottom to delete.

  2. Create your new content, either a Page or a Form depending on what you want it to be, using the appropriate ADD ___ link from the Adminstrator League Menu in the left sidebar. 

  3. Make sure that the TITLE of your new page/form/etc. is "Donate" or "Join" and doesn't contain any other words.

  4. Save and publish your new content item. Check the path in the URL bar of your browser, it should be /your-league-path/donate or /your-league-path/join. If this is correct, then your change will work. If it is not, send the path to mylo [at] lwvc.org with as much additional information as you can so that we can help troubleshoot.
