The Freedom Rides spanned from May through November 1961 with over 400 Black and white Americans risking their lives to end segregation on interstate transportation. On Thursday, January 28, 2021, LWVCT President Carol Reimers spoke at the Press Briefing about Modernizing CT Elections with Secretary of the State, Denise Merrill. Secretary Merrill introduced the results of the poll commissioned by Secure Democracy, showing that a large majority of Connecticut voters support Early In-Person Voting (almost 80%) and No-Excuse Absentee Ballot Access (70%).
