This League at the Library event will take place at the High Springs Branch Library and will be an inside event. We are looking for 2-3 volunteers to man the table.

During LWVAC's 2024 Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Campaign for the 2024 Election Season, the Voter Services team is organizing multiple Alachua County Library tabling events. The goal is to have a table at each of the 12 libraries once a month for 2 hours at peak times until November. We hope to increase League visibility and engage with current and potential voters, especially young people.

Contact Speaker of the House Matt Ritter and ask him to support funding for Early Voting. Many worked for a decade to pass Early Voting in Connecticut, a landmark event that the Governor said would "improve the ability of voters to cast their ballots and enable more people to participate in our democracy". However without funding and support this hard fought right may not succeed.

National Polular Vote

Action Alerts

The National Popular Vote(NPV) guarantees that the electoral college and the presidency will be won by the candidate who wins the most popular votes in all 50 states and DC. When enacted, NPV will apply the concept of “one person, one vote” to our presidential elections, making every voter politically relevant in every presidential election for the first time. LWVMI supports House Bill 4156 and Senate Bill 126, which would add Michigan’s 15 electoral votes to a growing number of states supporting National Popular Vote.
