The LWV-Hingham supports measures and opportunities to increase educational practices and facilitate a more inclusive Town Meeting processes to encourage informed, active citizen participation in Town government.

Each year, the LWV Hingham hosts an annual public review of the content of the Annual Town Meeting Warrant in order to engage voters early in the Annual Town Meeting legislative process. Below are links to videos of previous forums.

The forum gives citizens the opportunity to review Articles and ask questions. They can then follow up by attending Advisory Committee meetings at which the Advisory Committee will discuss its recommendations for the particular articles in which the citizens are interested.

Assembly Bill 637 seeks to address some problems with the current absentee ballot process. While we appreciate the intent of this legislation, our statement outlines serious problems including the fact that it creates a two-tier system in which all absentee ballots are not treated equally.
