Voter Education

Voter Education

We make voting easier through varied voter education programs.

The League of Women Voters of New Hampshire Education Fund conducts voter service and citizen education activities. It is a nonpartisan nonprofit public policy educational organization that:

  • Builds citizen participation in the democratic process by providing clear and simply voter information, including translations into several languages for new citizens.
  • Supports League studies of key community issues at all government levels in an unbiased manner.
  • Enables people to seek positive solutions to public policy issues through education and conflict management.

Projects made possible by the League of Women Voters of New Hampshire Education Fund, of benefit to New Hampshire citizens, include the publication "Financing New Hampshire" (2006), describing the state's tax system, and thousands of brochures and flyers widely distributed throughout the state explaining the 2012 voter ID requirements and voter registration procedures. In 2014 and 2016 we again distributed voter registration and voter ID requirements information widely.

Candidate forums are an important part of the League's work. We have protocols in place to be sure events are non-partisan and fair. We can provide trained moderators to community groups wishing to hold forums according to League protocols. Planning for forums can take up to a month before the event. If any community wishes to hold a forum with League guidance and/or moderator, please contact the League President/membership well in advance to discuss the process.

League sponsored candidate forums may also be partially funded by the LWVNH education fund.

Donations to the League of Women Voters of New Hampshire Education Fund, a 501(c)(3)corporation, are fully tax-deductible where allowed by law. They may be sent to LWVNH Education Fund, 4 Park St Room 200, Concord NH 03301.
