Government

This committee addresses national, state and local issues being considered for legislative action. Forming ad hoc committees, they conduct studies of various issues and then hold a members meeting to see if consensus can be reached. Committee members speak to local Citizens Advisory Committees on issues and lobby our representatives. It is also active in efforts to reform New York State Government.

In 2019 this committee will study workforce issues such as housing and transportation. View this video about the high cost of housing.

Constitutional Convention for NYS: Yes or No?

On November 7, 2017, voters will go into voting booths throughout New York State and, as they are every 20 years, will be faced with the Constitutionally mandated question, "Shall there be a convention to revise the constitution and amend the same?"

See our State LWV website for information.
