There is Public Comment meeting of the Ulster County Legislature on December 10th, 6:00pm, 6th floor of the county office building in Kingston. 

One of the topics the legislators is inviting public input on is Local Law #13 of 2019, Requiring Property Owners of Multi-family Dwellings Located in Ulster County With More Than 20 Units Have an Office in Ulster County. You can check out the full document on the county website.

This is a good first step, but not broad enough, particularly considering some of the newsworthy problems tenants have encountered over the past year. The public is welcome to make suggestions to improve the law.

Please consider coming to speak on this topic on behalf of those affected by abusive landlords. If you know of tenants who have had or has problems, ask them to come and share their story. If not speaking,  a quiet presence will also make a huge difference.
