Our League will participate in a breakfast meeting sponsored by the Ulster County Regional Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the 100th anniversay of enactment of the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote. In addition to League President Cynthia Bell and Vice-President Jennifer Clark, speakers will include former Chief Justice of the Third Department’s Appellate Division, the Honorable Karen Peters; the Ulster County Clerk, the Honorable Nina Postupack; and the Democratic Commissioner of the UC Board of Elections, Ashley Dittus. Speakers will focus on the history of the suffragette movement and the impact local women had on it, as well as the impact women’s voting rights have had in the county over the last 100 years.
