Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, passed by Congress on June 4, 1919!

Explore the exciting lives of women past and present who have defied society to fight for what was right. Feminists of all ages and genders will be inspired by the past and empowered to be engaged citizens. Give three cheers for the most persuasive speech about women’s suffrage, and make sashes to wear in a Votes for Women march. In the STEAM center, follow the paths of women in the past through hands-on activities, including a wind tunnel experiment and subversive cross-stitching.

This year, we are excited to be joined by the League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan organization that supports a vibrant democracy through advocacy and education of all citizens.

Historic Hudson Valley and the League of Women Voters of the Rivertowns are pleased to announce a visit from State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins* from 12-1. The Senator will be speaking about how she became involved in public service and will take questions from the audience.
