How to Unpublish Content

By unpublishing content, you have made it draft only so that it's available solely to authenticated webmasters. This is a great alternative to deleting content. If an item displays in your menu, slideshow, or in a list/dynamic view, the unpublished items will automatically disappear from those areas and can always be found again in Manage Content.

There are 3 ways to unpublish any content:

  1. From Manage Content - Operations menu
  2. From revision bar while viewing published version
  3. From Moderate tab

From Manage Content

Use the Operations menu and check boxes to select the content item(s) upon which you'd like to execute an operation.

Revision Status Bar

The revision bar is located under your webmaster tabs and right above your content, while in view mode (specifically, View published). Click to quickly unpublish this revision.

This is an example of a status bar for content with a published version, with a most recent draft revision. By unpublishing, the published version will become the most recent draft revision, overriding the existing draft.

Moderate tab

The Moderate tab is located above your content and reveals a list of revisions applied to that particular content item. A published revision shows up green in the list, while the draft revision shows up red. Click to quickly unpublish the published revision.

Here is an example of revisions for content with a published version, but a most recent draft revision. By unpublishing this content, the published version will become the most recent draft revision, overriding the existing draft.
